This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. By visiting WineCloud.io (or any mobile app that uses the Wine Cloud software) you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Pixie Labs (UK) Ltd. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 08544578 and have our registered office at 345 Old Street, London, EC1V 9LL.

Personal Information Collected About Visitors to Wine Cloud

If you, as a visitor to Wine Cloud, elect to register to use Wine Cloud (e.g. to pour, rate or review wine) then we will collect your name and email address.

Should you choose to register or sign in using Facebook connect, we will collect your first and last names, email address, Facebook profile picture and any information that you have chosen to make public on Facebook including name, age, location.

Should you choose to register or sign in using Twitter, we will collect your Twitter handle.

No personally identifiable information will be made public to other visitors to the site.

Wine Cloud business customers, i.e. wine shops, merchants or event organisers who have purchased the Wine Cloud software. These companies will have access to your data because you will be using Wine Cloud in their premises or at one of their events. However, data is not shared between all of our customers, and only customers whose venue you attend will have access to your data.

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

If Wine Cloud or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wine Cloud, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Data Storage

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers, with sensitive information encrypted, salted and hashed. Any payment transactions will be handled by Stripe, certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Services Wine Cloud Uses

When you sign up to Wine Cloud, you will be added to the Wine Cloud mailing list if you have expressed that you would like to receive direct email marketing from Wine Cloud.

Wine Cloud uses Google analytics to track how you are using the site, your browsing behaviour, journey and device or browser used. No personally identifiable information is collected via Google analytics. This information is used to help improve the experience for the users.

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site.

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, may be notified to you by e-mail. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made as they are binding.
